FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

“TKE Day” at Nu Chapter a Success

Berkeley, CA – March 13, 2010 – Last Saturday 40 brothers and 13 membership candidates came to the Nu Chapter house early in the morning to do their part in renovating and completely cleaning the house.

Each semester, the house manager hosts an event called TKE Day, were all the brothers and candidates come together to complete some necessary house renovations, as well as a general house cleaning.

This spring, brothers and candidates came early on Saturday to be divided into teams to work on different projects for the good part of the day. Group leaders lead cleaning in the kitchen, back yard, and front yard, as well as reorganization of the basement, attic, and tool closet.

“The most substantial and lasting accomplishment of TKE day was definitely building much needed shelves in the laundry room,” says Josh Feldman, current house manager.

With the help of everyone involved, the spring-cleaning was done by 1PM, at which point all those involved sat down for lunch, which was prepared by a different group of brothers.

“TKE day is a lot of work, but it’s also a great bonding experience,” says Feldman. “I’m glad we got a lot done.”
