FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 2011—Tau Kappa Epsilon Nu Chapter recently concluded another successful recruitment season. After a weeklong recruitment schedule, Tau Kappa Epsilon is proud to offer bids to twenty prospective fraternity members. While this spring’s pledge class is large, TKE is confident that each of the men in the Sigma pledge class has the potential to enhance the character of Tau Kappa Epsilon and possesses the leadership qualities needed to keep the Nu Chapter headed in the right direction

The Nu Chapter would like to recognize the dedication of the 2011 Rush Chairs, Eric Tye, Barrett Glasauer, and Andy Henning for their work in organizing and executing a successful recruitment, as well as the rest of the fraters who put forth their best effort in recruiting a diverse group of scholarly gentlemen. According to Rush Chair Barrett Glasauer, “We had an incredibly successful rush due to the impressive contributions of every brother in the house as well as those who came before us and built TKE into what it is today. It is truly a testament to the development and maturation of our fraternity as a whole that we were able to extend bids to 20 fine young men and have every single one of them decide to enter the candidate program.”

The fraters of Tau Kappa Epsilon look forward to this spring’s pledge process, directed by sophomore Mike Rigg, and the development of the potential members’ character and leadership ability. “We have 20 solid new candidates who will hopefully fulfill all of our membership education requirements and become members in our bond,” stated Mike Rigg last week. With a handful of social, philanthropic, and academic events planned for the upcoming semester, the fraters and potential members of TKE will certainly be busy, but will nonetheless be positively impacting the Greek system and campus community along the way.

TKE Nu Website Updated and Enhanced for 2010 Rush

Berkeley, CA – January 11, 2010 - In preparation for Spring Rush 2010, Berkeley’s Nu Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon has updated its website, TKENu.com, adding multiple features that will serve as rush tools for the coming year and the future.

Such features include the creation of TKE Nu News, which will catalogue all future press releases, articles written by Brothers, and other news stories about Nu Chapter. Nu News is also Mobile optimized, allowing easy access via any Touch device.

Also updated is the Nu Rush and Brothers pages, which include contact information and bios on the current Rush Chairs and Officer Corps.

In addition to website improvements, TKE Nu Chapter has entered into the Social Media arena, with Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook pages to use as effective rush tools in the new decade.

“At Nu Chapter we are always trying to find ways to make interested rushees more aware of the philanthropy work that we do, the academic rigor we endorse, and the workings of our house,” says Dustin McKenzie, President of Nu Chapter. “Tkenu.com is another step in that process.  It is a great addition to our rush and we hope it will provide valuable information to anyone that is interested in becoming a brother in Tau Kappa Epsilon.”

Having just initiated 13 brothers the previous semester, Nu Chapter hopes to recruit an equally sizable class this coming Spring.

TKE Nu Chapter was founded in 1919, and is known for being the first Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon on the West Coast. Anyone is welcome to participate for Spring Rush, and TKE Nu’s doors are always welcome to visitors old and new.
