Nu Chapter sends 12 members to the TKE Regional Leadership Conference

Berkeley, CA – February 21, 2010 – This past weekend Nu Chapter sent 12 fraters to the 2010 Greg and Cay Woodson Regional Leadership Conference in San Francisco. Cost for all 12 attendees was fully covered by the chapter through the combination of a Student Opportunity Grant from the Chancellor’s office, an Academic Opportunity Grant from the ASUC, and the continued generosity of our alumni to Nu Chapter’s Leadership fund.

Throughout the weekend-long Regional Leadership Conference, Fraters participate in educational sessions that help prepare them for success in college and the business world, network and build relationships with other undergraduates and alumni, and strengthen their understanding of TKE’s ideals and principles.

Teke’s attending had the opportunity to hear speeches from Grand Grammateus Bob Barr, former US congressman and presidential candidate and Frater Ernie Ernest, President of Crown Metal and Vice Chairman of the TKE Educational Foundation. This conference was of special importance to Nu Chapter Tekes as 4 Nu Chapter Alumni were awarded with the Fraternity’s prestigious Golden Key Award. John Philips, Carl Anderson, Cliff Ceridono, and Dick Anderson were presented with their award this past Saturday for their outstanding commitments to the Fraternity.

Returning Nu Chapter fraters hope to take what they have learned this past weekend not only back to the chapter but also to their future endeavors. Nu chapter hopes to continue its tradition of attendance at RLC, and other Leadership Conferences and can always use financial assistance in its endeavors.
